Polyglot is working in collaboration with the Melbourne Zoo for the palm oil awareness campaign. The outcome is expected next year, with a ten minute show featuring the amazing puppet pictured.

Puppet maker Tim Wells created a beautiful orang-utan in time for the launch of this very special campaign, held on 17 August 2009. The real orang-utans were fairly sanguine when faced with a puppet of themselves (although one was outraged and threw things.) The puppet is yet to be named, but Polyglot is sure the Zoo staff will choose one very soon.

Check out the Zoo website and read about the campaign – palm oil is threatening the habit of orang-utans and the statistics are scary. Stay tuned for further news about this project.
